Electrical Inspections

Electrical Inspections

Electrical inspections are performed to identify areas of active corrosion or electrical interference on buried piping and tankage. Regular inspections allow for early detection of potential concerns which in turn reduces maintenance costs and likelihood of spills. These surveys are required to be performed once every 3 years by a corrosion expert per 18 AAC 75, Oil and Other Hazardous Substances Pollution Control, Section 80, part h(1).

Taku Engineering is experienced with these inspections and employs qualified engineers and technicians that are available for your electrical inspection needs.

Inspections consist of:

  • Close-Interval Potential Surveys
  • Spot Pipe-to-Soil Potential Measurements
  • Soil Resistivity Testing
  • Collection of Soil Samples and Content Analysis
  • Visual Survey of Piping
  • Continuity Testing
  • Isolation Testing
  • Interference Testing
